Theater Interior 2

View looking southwest at the interior of the theater at Patara. On the left (south) side of the image the cavea (seating area) is visible as is the semi-circular orchestra area. Right of center, the skene and the stage area are visible.

Note how the theater is larger than a semi–circle. The larger-than-semi-circular construction indicates that the theater was first constructed during the Hellenistic Period.

A large Greek Inscription is on the wall in the lower right portion of the image.
