Theater 1

View looking northeast into the small Roman Theater at Phaselis. The cavea (seating area) of this theater is built into the western side of the acropolis and borders one of the main streets that passes through Phaselis. The theater could seat about 1,500 people.

The stage area is off to the left (nor visible). The semi-circular orchestra area is bounded by a low wall to protect visitors from wild animals that sometimes fought in the orchestra area.
