Augustus with Cross
ID: TWCEPUC61

Head of the Roman Emperor Augustus (r. 27 B.C.-A.D. 14) with a cross on his forehead. Evidently, the cross was added to his head during the Christian Era—possibly some time in the fourth century A.D.
The statue was found at the east end of the "Basilica Stoa" on the north side of the Upper (State) Agora.
