Augustus Temple 3

View looking down and southwest at the Augustus Temple complex. The temple was built upon the foundations located in the center/lower right quadrant of the image. Portions of this podium were built out of living bedrock and still stands to a height of 8 ft. (2.5 m).

This temple was set in a semicircular area, the outline of which can be seen on the left side of the image. It was approached via a monumental gate that had been built by the Roman Emperor Tiberius (A.D. 14–37).
