Site of Lystra 2

View from the northwest looking southeast. The wooden structure in the foreground is a "shaduf" (Arabic — I'm not sure what it is called in Turkish) used to assist in drawing water from wells. Many of these are found in the vicinity of Lystra.

Lystra (mentioned 6 times in the NT) was a city in the district of Lycaonia. It is located on a mound just north of the Turkish village of Hatun Saray - about 21 miles [35 km.] south of Konya (ancient Iconium).
