Caldarium

View of the remains of the columns that supported the floor of the hot room (caldarium) of the Byzantine/Talmudic bathhouse. The hot air circulated among these columns heating the floor - compare the bathhouse at Masada. This bath house was used from the fourth to the eleventh century AD.
