Columns as Fortification

View looking south at the end of a street, at the west end of the market, that was blocked by column fragments taken from the nearby synagogue. The guides at Magdala suggest that these columns were taken from the (dismantled) synagogue in desperation to protect the city from the Roman onslaught.
