Clay Masks
ID: INHVHZAR12

This pair of clay pottery masks were found at Hazor. They date to the 14th-13th centuries B.C.
Three pairs of holes were punched in each mask so that they could be tied onto other objects—presumably statue heads—and used in religious ceremonies
Commentary modified from the display in the Israel Museum.
