Water System Entrance

View of the entrance into the underground 82 ft. [25 m.] long diagonal tunnel that is located at the foot of the vertical shaft. This diagonal tunnel did not descend to a spring — as at Megiddo, Gibeon, and Jerusalem — but to the water table where water collected and could be drawn.
