Christ Pantokrator

Looking up at the large dome over the center of the Greek Orthodox sanctuary, the Catholicon, which is located east of the tomb of Jesus.

The image is that of the Christ Pantokrator; "Christ the Almighty" or "Ruler of All." He holds scripture in his left left hand and he raises his right in blessing.

The Greek letters surrounding His head are: "Ο ΩΝ," meaning: "The One Who Is" or "He who Is."
