Hezekiah's Tunnel False Start

In this image the tunnel turns to the right. Notice on the left and center portion of the image two “false starts”—from which the diggers corrected their line to the right.

The diggers were working away from the viewer in this image.

Here the tunnel is about 7 ft. [2.1 m.] high and is close to the point where the two teams of diggers met.
