Iconostasis

View looking east at the iconostasis of the Church of the Nativity. The "iconostasis" is a wall on which icons are hung. In the center are the Royal Doors that lead into the altar area where the elements of the Eucharist are blessed.

Below this area is the grotto of the birthplace of Jesus. It is normally entered from a doorway on the right (not visible in this image).
