Tomb of Samuel 3
ID: ICHBNS03

View of the study area at the Tomb of Samuel. This memorial is located in the basement of the Mosque that was built on the site in the 18th century. It is a place of pilgrimage and prayer for Jews.
According to late traditions the Prophet Samuel was buried here—in spite of 1 Samuel 25:1 that places his burial at Ramah (modern er-Ram), to the northeast of Nebi Samwil.
