Scriptorium

View looking southeast down onto the central ruins of Qumran. Just left of center, a rectangular room is visible. De Vaux dubbed this the “scriptorium” for he found portions of benches and two ink wells in it and he felt that scrolls had been copied or composed in it—or in the second story of this room.
