Bronze Hydria Inscription Detail

View of the Greek inscription on the rim of a bronze hydra found at Nemea. It reads: “I belong to Zeus at Nemea.” Evidently the inscription was added after the hydria was manufactured.
This bronze hydria was found in a well. It dates to about 510 B.C. A hydria was used for carrying and storing water.
