Place of Slaughtering

This construction is not mentioned in the biblical text but there must have been some place like it where the animals were slaughtered.

In this reconstruction two large animals can be slaughtered. Their heads would be placed in the metallic circular rings (for control), their throats slit, the blood draining into basins, and then into the metallic bowl. The two upright beams each have hooks upon which the carcasses of the animals could be hung while their bodies were being butchered.
