Salamis, on the east coast of Cyprus, was the first stop on Paul’s first missionary journey where he and Barnabas and John Mark preached in the synagogues (Acts 13:5). It is located just N of Famagusta.


Please note, this is NOT where the famous Battle of Salamis took place in 480 B.C. That Salamis is an island northwest of Athens in the Saronic Gulf.
